At OEC, Equine Agility Training(EAT)is defined as “Teaching yourself and your horse the Principles of Control and Communication without physical contact”. Using obstacles while at “liberty”, your horse's cooperation is engaged in exercises through the use of verbal and physical cues, training, repetition, reasoning and a natural desire to interact with the handler on the ground.
Natural horsemanship skills such as “establishing leadership” and “joining up” techniques combined with learning skills such as body placement for both you and your horse provide a foundation for equine agility training ground work.
Equine Agility training is developed through your horse responding to the choices provided and your ability to direct him. This type of interactive play can be very rewarding and intellectually stimulating to both you and your horse. OEC will be offering clinics and demonstrations in liberty training and equine agility that you won't want to miss!
